CBS says 'I DO' to arranged marriage

CBS is shacking up with a reality show about arranged marriages.

http://doubledoublethoughts.blogspot.com - CBS has signed on a new show about arranged marriages from the creators of Project Runway The new show, from the creators of "Project Runway," uses a documentary format to showcase four adults who are eager to tie the knot, but have been unlucky in love. They agree to allow their friends and family to find them a spouse to marry.

The rest of the series then follows the newly met, newly weds' marriages.

CBS has been on a bit of a run with reality shows that draw controversy and headlines.

In 2007 the network was hammered by critics for producing and airing "Kid Nation" another documentary-style reality show in which kids got to run a town, a la "Lord of the Flies." Ultimately it was learned that the stars of the show were treated fairly and were always under supervision.

Marriage-themed reality shows have a checkered record.

The most controversial was 2003's Fox series, "Married by America" in which viewers were introduced to a group of singles and then voted on which ones should get together.

The show drew the ire of conservative groups and an FCC fine, when a bachelor party scene included some pixelated nudity.

Last week,
CBS also purchased the format rights for "Undercover Boss," a show in which a top executive goes undercover at his own company.

I realllllllly hate reality tv...these shows aren't helping any....Thoughts?
