Smallville Season 8 episode 14 recap

This weeks episode of Smallville was titled "Requiem"

To start this weeks episode, very creepy Winslow Schott is shown having a conversation with a ventriloquist's dummy about the joy of toys as he works on a model of the Daily Planet. Meanwhile, the LuthorCorp Board of Directors has a meeting to hold a vote of no confidence for Tess Mercer, Not happy with the way she's running things, and believing she is out to ruin the company.. but Oliver Queen busts in to say that he bought a controlling interest in LuthorCorp to the shock of everyone in the room.

The Board isn't too pleased at this news, but Oliver is distracted by clicking balls which he figures out are a bomb, so he ducks and tells everyone to get down, while the board gets blown up. In a brilliant bit of editing, the falling, flaming debris smashes into the comet of the opening credits....swwweeet!

In the Kent house, the bed is broken by the super-powered sex of Clark and Lana. Rather than go another round with Clark in the sack, Lana wants to go out patrolling with him. I know quite a few ladies who would disagree with her decision. He puts on his clothes faster than a speeding bullet because he's always dreamed of having a partner he could work side by side with.

Chloe arrives to spoil the mood and tell the lovers about the explosion at Luthorcorp that killed everyone except Oliver. Clark and Lana speed into the hospital to see the fallen Queen, who looks better after being in an explosion than most people do at their absolute best.

Clark and Lana suspect Lex so they go to investigate and find one of the clicking balls filled with Kryptonite. Lana removes a microchip to diffuse the Kryptonite and is confused by the fact that the chip has a Queen Industries logo.

Winslow (aka the Toyman) is still talking to his dummy, angry that neither Tess nor Oliver were killed in his explosion. Inside the dummy, we learn that the Toyman is working for Lex and he promises to start phase two, which involves an explosion at the Daily Planet. This dude is seriously deranged, and he has a pretty great evil laugh that would rival Bad Horse's terrible death whinny.

At the hospital, Oliver flirts with a nurse before asking Chloe for the address of a disgruntled employee named Winslow Schott with a penchant for toy bombs. Oliver suspects Winslow is working for Lex, and he wants Clark to stay out of it so he can kill Lex.

Chloe goes to Oliver’s private plane to get the address and Clark shows up wondering why she’s there. She claims it’s because even a bomb can’t stop Oliver’s work ethic.

Once Clark figures out the real reason, Chloe tries to defend Oliver’s desire to kill Lex since he’s pretty much turned 100 percent evil, but Clark’s goody-goody nature still thinks it’s wrong to kill him.

The Toyman visits Oliver in the hospital and handcuffs him to the bed. Oliver taunts the Toyman, who gets agitated and starts going crazy. Chris Gauthier is doing an absolutely fantastic job playing a campy, over-the-top villain.

The Toyman has a cymbal-crashing toy monkey and after he slams his cymbals together 53 times, he’ll explode. Oliver gets the Toyman to come close enough to grab and force into releasing him and telling him where Lex is.

Thanks to a quick trip to the patent office, Clark and Lana find Winslow’s home and spot the dummy with Lex’s wireless video camera inside. They also find a model of Metropolis with the Daily Planet destroyed.
They make their way to the Daily Planet and find a massive Kryptonite bomb on the roof. Lex uses his Phantom of the Opera intercom system to tell them that Lana’s super suit has the ability to absorb all the Kryptonite’s energy and diffuse the bomb, but it will leave her lethal to the touch for Clark.
After sharing one final kiss, she goes for it and does some weird flying, glowing thing that looks surprisingly good by Smallville’s visual effects standards.
Clark flees to go after Lex, but Lana stands in his way because she doesn’t want Clark to kill Lex because that’s wrong. I really hate noble super heroes. If given the chance, any reasonable human being would kill Hitler, and Lex is just about on par with that kind of pure evil.
Lucky for Clark, he doesn’t have to make a choice because Lex’s hideout truck explodes. Later Chloe does research and learns that the dead body in the truck was identified as Lex’s. The cops think the Toyman did it after turning on his boss, but Chloe knows the that Oliver was really responsible, and he has no remorse about what he did.
Then we get an absurdly long montage of characters looking sad that’s boring and an obvious indication that this episode’s final version was about one minute too short, so they had to pad it as much as they could.

Lana visits Clark one last time in the barn to say the Kryptonite absorption is irreversible so she has to leave, but Clark still struggles to reach her for one final makeout session, even though it saps him of all his energy and nearly kills him. NO chick is worth that dude!!!.

She says she loves him one last time, then leaves his life forever. Now can Lois and Clark hook up finally?? Can we get on with it??

I'm not really a fan of Lana, I never really have been...but i didn't mind her in this episode, i dont know if its because i knew it was her last one, and was extremely well acted from both clark and lana or what, either way, the story can move on and I thought it was a superb last episode for lana! ALSO, superb eye double for lex, thought it was nicely done!

All this Clark/Lana stuff also hurts the overall Superman story, it definitely cheapens what Lois and Clark will now share. It's like Clark's true love is Lana, But Lana is "untouchable" and out of this world, and neither of them are apart willingly, so one can't help but notice that Lois has just indirectly become..."the other woman" that he will "grow" to love..What? Anyway..I think what they should've done was have Lana come back not only physically diff. (as in a well-trained fighter), but someone who emotionally had just moved on as now they are in different places..the first way she left was actually preferable to me. I also don't much like how she became a super power with abilites close to Clarks..I honestly thought she would lose them, that is so far from the comics it's just a little stupid..What was the point of doing all that? why move that far away from the comic storyline?

Smallville Season 8 Ep 12 recap

I'm been watching the stuff on my PVR lately, to catch up on my Smallville watching, Well i've I've finally caught up, hopefully I can watch it live this week and provide a recap earlier...

*THIS RECAP CONTAINS SPOILERS, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE, STOP READING NOW*

Previously on Smallville: The Martian Manhunter saved Clark's life, Sacrificing his own powers in the process. He then became Detective John Jones. Meanwhile, Lana tried to find more information about Lex.

The episode starts with Detective John Jones in hot pursuit of a suspect, catching and roughing him up a bit. After the suspect is taken away, a sniper fires a few shots, hitting Jones in the chest. He's taken to the hospital, where Clark (Tom Welling) is conveniently doing some research on a story.

Clark worries that the doctor will discover Jones Martian Background, but Oliver (Justin Hartley) arrives to say he has a doctor on retainer for their special circumstances.

Chloe (Allison Mack) helps track down information on Jones, but she's kind of unhappy she doesn't have her super-charged Brainiac brain anymore to make it easier. They determine the shooter was a fellow cop and Chloe's brilliant plan is to have Clark pose as an undercover rookie.

The poor man's version of Training Day gets underway, and Undercover Clark's gruff partner Danny talks about how the cops resent these silly costumed super heroes running around. He also likes candy. That last part kind of destroys any street cred he thinks he has. They get a call and Clark uses his super speed to save his partner's life.

Acting in no way suspicious at all, Undercover Clark keeps asking about Jones' shooting. All the cops get called and they head off to a warehouse where Danny's cop buddies are holding the man who killed his partner and got off on a technicality. It's time for some vigilante cop justice. The beat down is stopped by the Green Arrow, who arrives to stop it.

Danny sees Undercover Clark chatting with the Green Arrow, so he asks a bunch of questions until Clark admits to investigating them for the shooting of John Jones. The next day, Oliver tries to convince Clark that the cops' version of vigilante justice is wrong.

Clark tries to find some clues, but he gets set up and arrested for Jones’ shooting. The leader of the "bad cops" also tells Danny it’s time to get his hands dirty and kill the Green Arrow (couldn't he start smaller? damn, feeding him to the wolves already) . The cops set him up by staging another suspect beating (well, the beat down part is real) and when the Green Arrow arrives, he tries to talk Danny out of killing him.

He’s successful, but then the leader, sitting in sniper position, fires and calls in a fake report that the Green Arrow is attacking a cop. Clark speeds off to stop the sniper and save the day.

Lana busts in on Tess Mercer to discuss a secret project called Prometheus that makes her think Lex is still alive and calling the shots. Tess denies it and when Lana leaves, we see she stole some data from the mansion.

Tess figured that out too, so she visits Lana and tells her she corrupted all the data on Prometheus, which is the only thing that can save Lex’s life. Then...Woohooo!!! CAT FIGHT! These two knock the crap out of each other for a while until Lana pulls a gun on Tess.

Instead of killing her, Lana shows Tess that she has a nano-transmitter embedded in her eye, and that Lex has been using it to see whatever Tess sees. Tess is devastated to discover that she’s simply being used by Lex.

Later she gives Lex a stern lecture in the mirror about how loyal she’s been to him, how she felt about him.... She finally tells him she’ll completely destroy his entire life and company. She uses a necklace to jam the signal and says, “I loved you, you son of a b*tch.” Oliver arrives for dinner, and Tess tells him she wants a merger, in more ways than one.

Finally, Clark and Lana meet up to talk and play some hardcore tonsil hockey...um...dude... WHAT ABOUT LOIS MAN!!!!!

It'll be interesting to see where they're going with the Tess Mercer storyline, In the episode, she discovered that Lex has been spying on her using a nano-transmitter he implanted in her eye so he can see what she sees.

After Lana told her this, Tess instantly evolved as a character, feeling sad and betrayed by the man she loved. If Lex was hoping that would be the end of it, he clearly underestimated Tess Mercer.

Tess vowed to destroy Lex Luthor’s empire, starting with the formation of a merger between LuthorCorp and Queen Industries. She also seemed open to the opportunity for other kinds of mergers between herself and Oliver Queen. That should be an interesting dynamic, not only for their personal relationship, but to see how Tess fits into the super hero world.

But with not that many episodes to go before the end of the season/series...be interesting to see how this is going to be used...

While the Tess Mercer part of the episode was interesting, the rest was pretty bad. Clark going undercover as a cop was laughable, as was the entire plot about vigilante cop justice. Smallville succeeds when it’s about the super-powered villains, and usually fails when they stray from that.

The other somewhat major development, was that huge lip-lock between Clark and Lana, which only serves to frustrate. We all know Lana won’t be around for long, and we also all know Lois and Clark wind up together, so this is just a pesky distraction. Love triangles aren’t compelling when we already know which point loses, Get over it already... Move on Clark... Move on Lana....It's not meant to be..

Let’s just hope, for Clark’s sake, Lois doesn’t find out, Because, As Tess showed us last night, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!

Smallville, Season 8, Episode 10

Dum dum da dum..Dum dum da dum....

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here on today on for this 10th edition of the 8th Season of Smallville, to witness the union of James Bartholomew Olsen and Chloe Anne Sullivan. If there is anyone here who objects to this marriage, may they speak now, or forever...HOLY CRAP, there's a giant alien creature destroying the wedding!

That's right, tonight's episode of Smallville brought us the wedding of Chloe and Jimmy, the return of Lana Lang, and the arrival of the gigantic alien destroyer called Doomsday. Short of Lois Lane performing as the stripper at Jimmy's bachelor party, what more could you want from an episode of Smallville?

Taking a page out of Cloverfield, The episode opens with home video footage of the wedding of Jimmy and Chloe. There are plenty of cuts and very grainy video footage, but even more depressing is the fact that the wedding is taking place in Clark's barn. The nuptials go off without a hitch, and there's a big kiss and cake, and everything's fine until...THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

If you've seen Cloverfield, you know what happens next. There's a loud, scary noise outside, the electricity goes out, people panic and run, trampling over one another while screaming "WHAT IS THAT?!" We see Chloe cradling an injured Jimmy as a monstrous thing shows up.

Frustratingly, the episode then rewinds and actually begins eight hours earlier. Lois has taken over the wedding planner duties and is running the day with an iron fist, trying to turn the barn into a suitable place for a wedding. She should've started eight days ago, not eight hour, why wait until the last minute to do things? you're just asking for trouble, ITS A WEDDING PEOPLE!!!!.

Jimmy takes some time off from rehearsing his vows to tell Lois that Clark likes her. He ducks in to see his bride-to-be, (was just asking for trouble huh) followed by the annoying videographer. The two lovebirds fall even more in love, but that's ruined when Chloe gets a voicemail message from Davis, making her question in her mind whether she wants a boy or a man.

Oliver arrives at the farm to let Clark know that Lex is alive, and that he can track him, but he needs Clark's help. Clark refuses to help on Chloe's special day, even though Lex is a huge threat.
Oliver guilts him into helping, Clark returns to Oliver's plane but Clark still provides some warnings about going after Lex as vengeance for his parents. Clark doesn't give him the stolen router, but one of Oliver's cronies used wifi to download the info.

Back at the barn, Chloe tells Lois about Davis' kiss. Chloe needs something borrowed to complete her tradition (something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue), but Clark doesn't approve of her decision to snoop and borrowing his Kryptonite rock. If he didn't have Jor-El wipe her memory of his secret, he wouldn't have to worry about these problems. Instead, Clark lets her borrow a flower she gave him when they were freshmen in high school, both Chloe and Lois are touched that he had kept it all this time.

Oliver tracks Lex to Cuba, so the Green Arrow shows up, sees a bald man, and shoots him with an arrow. It's a mannequin, and while investigating it, the Green Arrow gets his ass kicked by a girl. But it's not just any girl, it's...LANA LANG! Wow, that's not how I expected to see Kristin Kreuk again. Suddenly Lana's a vigilante also going after Lex to protect Clark. It's a bit surprising how nonplussed she is to discover that Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow, on a side note, her new changed look, with the hair and everything... looks great on her.

Shortly before the wedding, Lois acts a little goofy when she sees Clark in a suit. She helps him put on his cufflinks, Clark reads Jimmy's vows that were handed to him, but a mistaken Lois thinks that Clark is confessing his love for her, she's heartbroken when she turns and learns the truth. poor girl.

Now back closer down the timeline to where this episode started, Davis is on the phone leaving a message for Chloe, covered in blood and throwing out two trash bags full of guts. A cop stops him, and Davis warns the cop to leave because he's having another one of his blackouts. Only by "blackout," Davis means "turning into a giant alien Ultimate Destroyer." We see the start of the transformation as Davis' hand has black spikes popping out of it.

The wedding reception, meanwhile, gives Lois and Clark an opportunity to slow dance and SLOWLY move in for their first kiss. By slowly, I mean at a snail's pace, because they spend about one whole minute getting their lips closer and closer until, just as they're about to kiss, Lana shows up. Perfect timing, as usual.

Shortly thereafter, Oliver shows up and finds an increasingly drunk Lois. Against her better judgment, she decides to confess her emotional turmoil to her ex-boyfriend, who thinks that Clark feels the same way about Lois, even if he (Clark) can't say it.

In an even more awkward encounter of the exes, Clark and Lana reconnect. She's proud to see he's living up to his potential and saving people in Metropolis, and she doesn't regret the choice to leave. More importantly though, she doesn't respect Clark's decision to wipe Chloe's memory, because Lana never would have been able to forgive him if he did that to her.

That's when Doomsday showed up, and now we get a much clearer look at it. Doomsday is a giant, terrifying, spiky alien creature resemsembling a cross between Alien and Predator. Personally I think the Smallville version was too thin, granted he was shown in the dark primarily, and we mostly saw just his eyes, but the comic version, he was a lot bigger, a more imposing figure...just nitpicking though..anyways... It throws people around, destroys everything in sight, and generally kicks a lot of a*s. Clark tries to punch it, but he gets flung across the barn like a rag doll for his troubles.

Doomsday approaches Chloe, and Jimmy tries to fight back, but gets slashed across the chest for his troubles. That's what you get for trying to be a hero buddy! Oliver finds Clark to tell him that Doomsday has taken Chloe.

In the aftermath, Clark travels through the suddenly very popular hospital and tells Lana that he and Oliver are tracking the monster. Lois goes with Jimmy to see a specialist surgeon after having a tearful farewell with Clark.

Up at the Dark Fortress, Doomsday carries Chloe across the threshold and when she opens her eyes, she doesn't look all that disappointed.

If that wasn't enough excitement, someone is watching the video footage from Chloe's wedding. It's a man hooked up to a whole lot of machines....and he's bald....who can that be? ;-)


What an episode! Smallville is now going on there mid-season hiatus, We'll have to wait until January 15th, 2009 to find out what Doomsday has done with Chloe, is Jimmy ok? what's next for Lois and Clark? with only a few more episodes remaining in the season now, Clark's training should really step up.. which should promise some really exciting episodes in the final half of this season!

Smallville Season 8 Episode 9

Had a real busy night last night, my wireless internet connection has been real crazy, barely staying alive for a couple of seconds before disconnecting itself over and over the last couple of days, I've been trying everything I can to try and remedy the situation, but so far nothing seems to be working..Anyone out there got any ideas? its a Netgear WGR 614 V.4 router, and a D-link DWL G-520 internal PCI wireless adapter running on a windows computer... anyone?

On to this weeks episode of Smallville (as always, if you haven't seen it yet, LEAVE NOW) and what an episode it was, this season just seems to be getting better and better!

Chloe's super hacking brain gets a virus, slowly and suddenly all her memories are being removed so that she wouldn't be able to remember anything or anyone. The people and places she remembers get deleted. Jimmy is bringing Chloe breakfast in bed, but Chloe is really out of it, in a trance like state, until she wakes up in the present and has no idea who Jimmy is and jumps out of bed wanting him to leave.

Ok now If your fiancee couldn't remember who you were, where is the first place you'd go? The hospital? A family member of yours or your fiancee's? a psychiatrists? The police (that might be a bit extreme, what can they really do right? but hey, you're panicing) ? Jimmy heads straight to Clark (Ok, so he does that, but in the past he'd wonder why Chloe would always run to Clark when there was a problem too?) for help!

Chloe is equally stupid, She goes to to Metropolis General Hospital (that was a smart thing) not as a patient though, but posing as a med student looking for the library to study amnesia herself... HEY CHLOE!!! LEAVE THAT STUFF TO PROFESSIONALS!!!! Interestingly enough, she does recognize Davis still (wonder why?)

Clark pays her a visit, and she's acting strange. She pretends to remember things about people, but like it was being read of a list or script...He finds a room filled with an in-depth map of Chloe Sullivan's life to help her remember things. As crazy as she's acting, she's smart enough to recognize what's happening - she's being taken over by Brainiac. Her memories are being replaced by Kryptonian symbols, including one that stands for “doom.” As in “Doomsday.”

Clark hatches a plan to take the Blue Crystal to rebuild the Fortress of Solitude to get Jo-rel's help, but as they're speaking, Chloe loses her memory of seeing Clark catch a car, thus discovering his abilities. Now she has no idea who Kal-El and Brainiac are, or that Clark has super powers.

He speeds off to rebuild the Fortress, that giant cool looking ice building in the arctic that Kal-El calls home. Jor-El welcomes him home, but Clark gets all pissy with his dad about having trust issues. It's amazing how Smallville can turn an intergalactic conversation with a disembodied voice into a stereotypical scene of a teenage boy whining that his dad needs to back off and give him some space.

Davis stops by the apartment hoping to talk to Chloe, but he runs into Jimmy instead, so the paramedic tells him he won’t be able to attend the wedding. Jimmy heads off to Kent Farm where he’s disappointed that Chloe still doesn’t remember him, (yet somehow she knows what Facebook is? I'm just saying... I guess the things that are truly most important to you, stay with you.)

Jimmy takes Chloe to the hospital to get an MRI. Chloe loses another memory, this time of the first time she befriended Clark, which takes us back to an adorable scene of young Clark and young Chloe. He gets her a book she wants, and young Chloe gives him a little kiss. The virus starts deleting this memory, so young Chloe runs far, far away to escape the Brainiac virus eating up her memories. Needless to say, it’s a flawed plan that doesn't work.

She runs to her memory of the Daily Planet on Dark Thursday, the day at the end of season 5 when General Zod escaped the Phantom Zone and released Brainiac’s computer virus that caused a worldwide blackout. That memory vanishes too, and all that’s left now for her, is Davis. I’m getting the sense that Davis being General Zod’s son is only the beginning of the plans Smallville has for Doomsday.

Back in the real world, Chloe finds Davis, the only thing she remembers other than her own name. He takes her back to her apartment, and she’s angry that Davis betrayed her trust. She’s scared of Jimmy and Clark, but Davis knocks her unconscious with an injection. Clark flies her off to the Fortress and begs Jor-El to restore her memories, except for the things about about Krypton.

The world is back to normal, with Chloe and Jimmy going over their wedding’s seating arrangement. Clark stops by, and Chloe calls him “the best looking best man in town.” Jimmy must have no real friends if Clark is his best man.

She runs out to pay for the flowers when she finds Davis, who confesses that he’s not coming to the wedding because he’s in love with her. Dude, this is getting to be a bit stalker-ish. He’s only known her for a few weeks and he’s talking about the connection between them already?. He kisses her, and after taking a second to enjoy it, Chloe tells him to stop (Hey Chloe, something inside you made you at least kiss him back momentarily instead of smacking him right away...think about it) He vows that he won’t give up.

This weeks episode ends with the line: DOOMSDAY HAS ARRIVED

I loved this episode, this season is making me wish this wasn't the last

Smallville Season 8, Ep 8

I was hoping to write a little more this week, but life doesn't always let you do what you hope to right? Anyways, before I start to ramble on about life (i'll save that for another time maybe) I just finished watching episode 8 of smallville's final season (had it PVR'd, I wasn't home when it was actually on) so here's a bit of a recap of what happened in this weeks episode, along with some comments sprinkled in between (and again, if you haven't watched and you don't want to know what happened yet.. LEAVE NOW)

This week's episode starts off with Lois walking into Clark's place on the farm with some boxes with her belonging in them, This should be uncomfortable for Clark, but hey.. he did invite her to move in right? Along with the boxes Lois brings with her, Clark receives a gift box, with no markings as to who it's from, he open's it - it's Tess' missing Blue Crystal. He picks it up and before you know it, Clark and Lois are trapped in the Phantom Zone, flying through space. (now come on Lois, Clark TOLD you to back away, WHY do you never listen to something someone tells you, instead doing the total opposite and decide to latch onto Clark as the crystal was lighting up?? what if it were to blow up???)

Lois and Clark wake up in the PhantomZone, and she naturally freaks the hell out because they're on another planet. Clark tries to calm her down, but she's certain they've been abducted. Maybe Clark is so calm because he wouldn't mind a good probing....Hey, its been a while since he's gotten any, of anything right?


They get attacked by a masked woman. It's Kara, Warrior Princess, wearing one of the silliest, worst looking costumes I've ever seen used on Smallville. Where did she get all of that in a place with nothing anyways?? And i'm pretty sure she would have been watching them before pouncing... She didn't recognize her own cousin and someone she's seen before..and instead thought they were zoners? don't those things look like demons??

Clark tells her that they've got to find a way to get out of here and back to Earth, Kara tells him that she knows of a portal back to Earth, but she hasn't used it out of fear the Zoners would get out like they did when Clark last used a portal to escape the PhantomZone. Lois comes to and is stunned to see that Kara is there, but she's dumb enough to believe that all three of them were abducted by aliens (That's it! she got her job as a reporter based on her looks! her interviewer ignored everything else!!) . Kara opens the portal for Lois while Clark fights off the Zoner, But one gets through and jumps into Lois' body once she gets back to Earth.

Back on Earth, Chloe shows up to Kent farm and only finds a broken windown and the Blue Crystal. She pockets it before Tess shows up, searching for the source of a power surge she detected. As always, Tess is quite the bad-ass with an icy cold stare.

In Metropolis, Chloe tries to reach Oliver, but he's busy in Venezuela. I thought he said he went to Europe for a Justice League summit on the last episode of Smallville? was that over already and he's already darting to some other far off place instead of home? Maybe he's just picking up Cyborg and Impulse...who knows...
She eventually finds him and convinces Oliver to steal a generator from Tess so she can hack the Blue Crystal. (on another side note here, why does ANYONE need 3 cell phones? 1 is understandable, everyone should have one.. 2..pushing it, but some people want separate ones for business and personal...but 3??)

The Green Arrow breaks into Luthor Manor and steals the generator, but gets busted by Tess just as he gets it. He paralyzes her with an arrow (wicked quick throw too!), somehow she doesn't seem to recognize the lips she's kissed so many times (punchline here can be that's she's kissed so many so she can't be expected to remember them all) yes the voice is different..but combining the lips, and body figure,hmmm at least put some of it together?. Anyways... Green Arrown brings the device to Chloe, who uses her super Brainiac hacking skills to get into the Blue Crystal, which scares the heck out of Oliver.


Zoned out Lois (whose Kryptonian name is Faora) goes to the Daily Planet to search the records for her son, that she had with General Zod. They attached their child to the spaceship that brought baby Kal-El to Earth. (Have to say, Lois as Faora looked really HOT!!! that was a great look on her) Tess comes into the office and offers to help if Lois can help her find the missing Blue Crystal. Zoner Lois says "No deal." Zoner Lois will be NOBODY'S pawn!!

She then tracks down Chloe and asks for her help finding her son. Chloe accidentally helps when she knocks over a file about Davis. Awesome, Doomsday is General Zod's son! This is a departure from the comic mythology for the character, but one that I kind of love. Zoner Lois goes out and finds him at the hospital, and is disappointed that he's HELPING humans.


Back in the PZ, Kara wants to sacrifice herself so Clark can go through the portal, but when Chloe reverse activates the Blue Crystal, Clark grabs onto Kara's hand and the two get zapped back to Earth. Chloe gives them the 411 on Faora, wife of Zod.

Back at the hospital, Davis thinks Lois is just drunk, so he dismisses all this talk about being his alien mother. Zod and Faora apparently created a son by sending their genetic matter to Earth so it could evolve and become the world's greatest destroyer. So it's the classic story of how baby's are made: two aliens put their sperm and egg onto a spaceship and when it gets to Earth, a baby boy is born.

Faora's disappointment leads her to stab Davis through the chest with a metal rod to prove his true nature. Clark speeds into the hospital and grabs Zoner Lois, but she swats him aside and proceeds to choke the life out of him until Kara uses a red crystal to zap her back to the PhantomZone.


The next morning, Lois gets a mysterious raise from Tess, which means she can afford to find her own place to live. She's also delusional enough to accept that her trip to the PhantomZone was nothing more than a crazy whacked out acid trip.

Tess calls Clark in to pry about what Zoner Lois told her about an alien spaceship carrying a baby named Kal-El. She also shows him a photograph of a boot print she found on Kent farm that matches the one she found in the arctic where Lex disappeared, but he denies any knowledge about what she's talking about, "lots of people have the same shoe".

Oliver stops by the Kent farm to voice his concerns about Chloe's super-powered hacking that caused her eyes to turn white. Oliver demands that Clark helps her out to cure her of this dangerous Brainiac disease.

Kara tells her cousin to just admit the truth to Lois because she's strong and can handle it. She also tells him that shes' leaving town, because she heard rumors that a lost Kryptonian city is still in existence while in the PhantomZone, so she wants to find it. She flies off, never to be seen on Smallville again.

Back to the hospital, Davis takes off his shirt to admire the fact that there's no gaping hole where Faora ran a metal pipe through him. The man has abs of steel, and I mean that in the literal sense.... He experiments with stabbing himself in the chest, but the knife just shatters. It looks like Doomsday has arrived!.

All together, a pretty decent episode, as the majority of this season have been...8 episodes in, we're about midway there... so I things should REALLY get exciting from here with things wrapping themselves up, sort of a shame Doomsday wasn't brought in a bit earlier, as I think things with him would be a little rushed now to really have any decent impact..Guess we'll have to wait and see...
Not really sure how I feel about this changing of Doomsday's lineage, as in the comic...
Doomsday was created in the distant past on the planet Krypton (so far I guess this part stayed the same in this story?) , long before the humanoid Kryptonian race had gained dominance over the planet. It was a violent, hellish world where only the absolute strongest of creatures could survive (at the time, the world's dominant lifeforms were said to be the most dangerous creatures in the universe).In an effort to create the ultimate lifeform, the alien scientist Bertron (not General Zod and his wife) sent an infant who was born in vitro—in order to make it develop resistance to the harsh environment to the surface of the planet—- where it would be promptly killed by the vicious creatures inhabiting it.

When someone was finally able to destroy him, Its remains were harvested and used to clone a stronger version of it, a process repeated countless times as a form of accelerated natural selection. The agony of these deaths were recorded into its genes, driving the creature to hate all lifeforms. Eventually, it gained the ability to adapt, to overcome what killed it in its prior life without the need of Bertron's technology. "The Ultimate/Doomsday" hunted and killed all of the lethal creatures that then inhabited Krypton, including Bertron, who he had come to identify as hostile due to his research having 'killed' him hundreds upon hundreds of times. (wouldn't you be upset at someone killing you or trying to kill you lots of times?) .
So there's a brief summary for the creation of Doomsday...Different as you can see from what's been played out on the show...not really sure if what's being played on the show is good or bad though? any thoughts?

Smallville season 8 ep 7

Going to write a little bit about one of my favorite shows, been following this since the beginning and with it now in it's final season (although it sucks to see it go..going to have to find something else to do or watch Thursday's at 8pm EST now!) storylines are wrapping up, and things are really getting exciting with Clark embracing his destiny.

Last night's episode was entitled "Identity" and it was a good one! (just like all of them this year, kudos to the writers) Going to start recapping what happened in the episode now, so if you haven't watched it yet, and instead have it PVR'd/recorded to watch later YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.


In this episode of Smallville, Clark is worried that his secret will be revealed by Jimmy, who finally put the figures out that Clark has super powers. Unfortunately, Clark is also sly (although not a great liar, anyone can see that he's sweating trying to cover something up!) and likes making people who are smart look like idiots (how long was he doing that to Chloe??).

Jimmy attempts to talk Lois into taking this "Mystery Hero" story, but she's not buying it. The two get mugged on the street as they're walking, but Lois fights back because that's just the kind of woman she is!!. She orders Jimmy to take a photo of the guy, but the mugger shoves Lois into oncoming traffic. Clark happens to get there at that moment, speeding in and saving her, but unfortunately for him, Jimmy listened to Lois and snaps the photo.

Luckily super-speed causes a blurry photo, but Jimmy still thinks it's a person. The blur is red and blue, which should make Clark the obvious suspect now since he ALWAYS wears red and blue.

Meanwhile, A guy named Sebastian starts his first day at the Daily Planet and instantly starts flirting with Lois (some guys' just don't wait huh?). He can see people's memories when he touches them, and it turns out he's secretly a part of Tess Mercer's Evil Justice League, Tess had sent him there to find out if Lois stole the Blue Crystal from her. He's reluctant about doing bad things, but Tess can be very convincing.

Clark goes to Chloe for help, but she responds by saying that she thinks a news story about a good samaritan will boost the morale of the people of Metropolis. She wants Clark to have a secret identity. Hmm, I wonder if they can come up with a good name for the alter ego. Maybe Superdude... Superguy....Super Samaritan....hmmmm

While trying to steal Jimmy's information on the good samaritan (now I was wondering, why wasn't Clark using his super-speed right here? get in, find it, get out..no one would need to know...), Clark is busted by Lois, who is busy busting out of her dress (which she looked great in...hey i'm just saying) She goes on a date with Sebastian. On the date, he touches her and sees her memories, one in which is Lois doing a search on Sebastian and figuring out he was in the Black Creek facility "for the meteor infected" . How can someone as smart and resourceful as Lois Lane NOT realize that Clark Kent has super powers by now?.

Sebastian goes to Tess and tells her of this and his concerns, Tess doesn't care since the Black Creek facility was dismantled, Sebastian freaks out because Lois knows how dangerous he is, so he proves her right by threatening her life unless she gives him the Black Creek flash drive.

That night, Clark is doing laundry (which suspiciously consists entirely of red and blue shirts and pants, like come on, a little variety would be nice now and then!! and where is he getting these? isn't the salesperson wondering why it's always the same?). Jimmy shows up at the farm with his research showing the good samaritan started in Smallville, Jimmy now puts some pieces together and figures out Clark's secret (uh oh).

Jimmy knows that Clark is the good samaritan! Finally, someone on this show displays even the slightest bit of intelligence (and it only took 8 seasons). Clark runs off to get Chloe's help, and when Jimmy arrives shortly after, he is even more certain that Clark has super powers because it's the only way he could haveve beat him there. Chloe has no problems lying to her fiance. That marriage is already doomed.

The next person Clark goes to for help is Oliver Queen, who is chilling on his private jet with a bunch of (very) attractice women and some booze. Wow, Oliver is taking that break-up with Tess thing hard. Clark plays a deep guilt trip on Oliver about how he's no longer taking his superhero duties seriously and how Jimmy knowing his secret would put him in danger.

Clark and Oliver concoct a "genius" plan in which Chloe tries to run over Clark in a car and Oliver will save him wearing a stupid looking red and blue costume. It's like when Clark dressed up as the Green Arrow to protect Oliver's secret from Lois, only instead of getting to kiss Lois like Clark did, Oliver has to wear a cape. The plan fails when Clark gets a call from Lois asking for help.

Rather than give Sebastian the flash drive, Lois fought back, because she loves getting into fights with guys (this is one tough woman!!) . She does a decent job until Sebastian starts gains the upperhand and throws her through a table (is that any way to treat a woman? COME ON) . It's pretty uncomfortable watching some guy beat the crap out of a woman, pick on someone your own size man!!!. Clark rushes over to save his damsel in distress.

Back on the street, a real bad guy (and I think it was the same one from earlier in the episode too? correct me if i'm wrong here... hire at least a couple more extra's guys!!) tries to mug Jimmy. Oliver swoops down and saves the day, and the plan works when Clark comes back and they look at the guy in the flowing red cape.

The newspaper headline the next day is "Faster Than a Speeding Bullet," which is sort of stupid since Oliver used a zip line and wasn't very fast at all, in fact, he was pretty slow there!. Jimmy apologizes to Clark for almost incorrectly outing him.

Having been saved twice, Lois is now a true believer in "Superdude." Lois now has her target set and she won't rest until she gets the first exclusive interview with Superdude.

In the aftermath, Oliver jets off for a Justice League Summit in Europe after realizing that the Green Arrow is who he really is, and Oliver Queen is the alter ego.

Chloe pays a visit to Sebastian at Metropolis General Hospital, wanting to know how much he learned about Clark when he knocked him down to save Lois. Sebastian answers by saying "He shouldn't have touched me" To protect Clark's secret, she touches and kills Sebastian. Whoa, I like this bad-ass Chloe, this power is much better then the one they originally started her out with..On a side note though, when Sebastian was flatlining and doctors were coming in, no one saw her leaving the room and thought anything of it? I'm just saying :oD


Loved this weeks episode, loving this season... I'll definitely be tuning in next week (Same Smallville Time, Same Smallville Channel!) I'll be recapping the episodes as I watch them, with some comments here and there of what I thought of the show... what am I going to do after this season is over??
