A sorry excuse...

Miley Cyrus's "goofy face" line might have worked on the four-year-olds, but it's not gonna work on the Organization of Chinese Americans.

Last week, Miley Cyrus taught us an invaluable lesson about racial sensitivity: if you do something people consider offensive, blame their imaginations. Then name drop Britney Spears..... Then change into the Hannah Montana wig and tell the world that Miley has died in a freak trampolining accident, but her last words were "Hannah... take over my career... ecghhh!" While that may have worked on her fan base, ages one and under, the Chinese-American advocacy group, the
OCA, are not going to let Miley off the hook with an "I'm sorry people made a big deal about me being racially insensitive" apology.

"The picture is offensive and now this statement is inadequate," group spokesperson George Wu said to Celebuzz. Miley had her role model status called into question last week when a photo of her and some pals pulling their eyes back into narrow slits alongside an Asian guy leaked onto the internet. She posted a statement to her website that sidestepped the issue and bemoaned her new status as America's Celebrity Whipping Girl.

Miley does get unfairly criticized at times, but the
OCA is absolutely right: her apology was a whole lot of nothing. But Disney probably told her to write it, so let them apologize. They can also apologize for the Siamese cats from Lady and the Tramp while they're at it.

Miley Cyrus has since posted a somewhat more fuller apology for her insensitive photo and behavior on her official fan site:

"I want to thank all of my fans for their support not only this week, but always! I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone. I have learned a valuable lesson from this and know that sometimes my actions can be unintentionally hurtful. I know everything is a part of GOD’s ultimate plan, and mistakes happen so that eventually I will become the woman he aspires me to be. Peace and love, Miles"

That's sort of an apology...I suppose... She even brought God into it....

Offensive racially insensitive photo aside... Miley Cyrus is 15 years old! I am not bringing that fact up to say "she's a stupid kid, stupid kids make stupid mistakes" No, that's not what i'm saying....
I bring that up because she and everyone else in the photograph look totally hammered!!!

As far as I know, the legal age to be drinking in the United States is 21 (if I'm wrong, correct me there, but I believe its 21?) While i'm on that, She lives with her 20-21 year old boyfriend... SHE'S 15!!!! Where are her parents during this? reminiscing about old times and doing the achey-breaky??

If I had a 15 year old in my lap like the guy in photo, I'd be getting a beat down!!! I let her drink? you had better start writing my eulogy...

Miley Cyrus' picture controversy

'Hannah Montana' actress Miley Cyrus is embroiled in a fresh controversy after photographs of her "slanting her eyes" surfaced on the internet.

Miley Miley Cyrus is embroiled in new controversy after photographs of her "slanting her eyes" surfaced on the internet.

The 'Hannah Montana' actress - who shocked fans when a series of pictures of her in raunchy poses were leaked lat year - has been accused of being racist by an Asian American advocacy group, who are demanding she apologizes.

The Organization of Chinese American (OCA) said in a statement: "The photograph of Miley Cyrus and other individuals slanting their eyes currently circulating the internet is offensive to the Asian Pacific American community and sets a terrible example for her many young fans."

Executive Director of OCA George Wu said: "Not only has Miley Cyrus and the other individuals in the photograph encouraged and legitimized the taunting and mocking of people of Asian descent, she has also insulted her many Asian Pacific American fans. "The inclusion of an Asian Pacific American individual in the photo does not make it acceptable. OCA hopes that Miley Cyrus will apologize to her fans and the APA community for this lapse in judgment and takes the opportunity to better understand why the gesture is offensive."

Miley's representative is yet to comment on the allegations.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old singer has traded in her Porsche - which used to belong to her mother - for an eco-friendly black Prius.

Miley decided to get rid of the luxury motor as it was "bad for the environment" and is delighted with her new model.

She said: "I didn't like it 'cause it was bad for the environment, and it was too big. My dad surprised me last night with a black Prius, which is good for the environment, and it's adorable! I'm going to get Hello Kitty floor mats!"
